Honoring Joseph M. LaTona upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the Charles F. Crimi Memorial Award.

HONORING Joseph M. LaTona upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the Charles F. Crimi Memorial Award by the New York State Bar Association.
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to those singular individuals who devote their purposeful lives and careers to preserving the rights and protecting the welfare of the citizens of their community and the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, The quality and character of life in the Buffalo community has been ably served and uniquely enriched through the selfless dedication and benevolent concern of defense lawyer Joseph M. LaTona;
and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Joseph M. LaTona upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the Charles F. Crimi Memorial Award by the New York State Bar Association at a ceremony held in January of 2019, in Manhattan; he received this prestigious award for outstanding work by a criminal defense lawyer; and
WHEREAS, Joseph M. LaTona is the Buffalo defense lawyer who took a tax evasion case all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court and won; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his esteemed career, Joseph M. LaTona remains true to his commitment, serving family, faith and community, as well as the law; his contributions and accomplishments have brought great benefit and positive influence to bear upon the course of jurisprudence and the quality of life for others; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individual for the benefit of others which Joseph M. LaTona has displayed throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to honor Joseph M. LaTona upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the Charles F. Crimi Memorial Award by the New York State Bar Association; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be transmitted to Joseph M. LaTona.
